Oficina Técnica Buigas – Types of fountains
Floating Fountains
The floating fountains allow the creation of a wide variety of light and water shows in natural areas such as lakes and ponds. We design the most appropriate for each area.
What is a floating fountain?
Floating fountains are a type of fountain for ponds and lakes that enable the installation and maintenance of their systems in relation to their installation on the water surface.
They come with various floating systems that allow them to remain robust on the surface, irrespective of the water depth or the oscillation of water levels. Depending on what types of floating fountains and aerators are installed, they will require different equipment and platforms that are appropriate for each installation, which enable their maintenance.
Types of floating fountains
Each fountain technology can be adapted to become a floating fountain. As an example, geysers, ballerina fountains, water shows and water screens can be installed.
A wide variety of effects can be used to create the various floating fountain designs and configurations, in accordance with the area and requirements of each project. All the musical, illumination and water effects installed on each fountain will combine to design and create choreographies that light up the lake or pond where they are installed.
Where can a floating fountain be installed?
The floating fountain is designed to be installed in large lakes and in deep lakes within gardens and reservoirs where their depth makes it impossible to have fixed features installed.
They can also be installed on uneven ground or ground which lacks the solidity to install their systems. This occurs for example when the bottom is either earth or mud.
Floating fountain according to their orientation
Vertical Orientation
These are designed for water sheets that have a sufficient depth to install the equipment vertically, which enable their effects to operate properly.
Horizontal Orientation
A horizontal floating fountain is when the fountain systems are installed horizontally, parallel to the surface in order to occupy less space and in order to install all required systems. This type is required for shallow ponds.
