Design
The design of this fountain was marked, on the one hand, by the need to make the fountain accessible to everyone, like the rest of the elevated promenade, and on the other, by the desire to commemorate the cetaceans that can be seen from this point. With these requirements it was decided to make a passable fountain with a unique element, a whale tail sculpture that was also a fountain that was part of the fountain.Execution
The project was executed in four months through the following stages:
- Civil work
The civil works were carried out in conjunction with the reform of the elevated promenade and the paving of the square, so its execution was easier.
After excavating the square, the compensation tank and the technical room for the installation of the equipment were placed, and the installation passage and the steel vessels of the dispensers were prepared.
At the same time, the whale sculpture was made in the workshop and installed at a lower level than the final paving of the square.
- Installation of hydraulic and electrical elements
Once the elements that required civil works have been conditioned, they begin to assemble and join all the fountain systems, including the already prepared whale tail connection. Once this part is finished, the paving of the square ends.
At the end of the civil works, the water evacuation grids located around the dispensers are placed, each of which integrates individual LED lighting.
- Connection and commissioning:
After completing the installation of all the equipment, the start-up tests are carried out from the electrical control panel.
Like all our projects, this fountain is equipped with our Syncroshow® system control software, which is individually programmed and adapted to the systems installed in each project, with its specific operating parameters. This allows exhaustive and global control of the entire installation, from any device with internet access, which facilitates maintenance work.
Sustainability
We are very aware of the European sustainability criteria in all our projects. In our fountains we use robust, top quality materials, such as stainless steel and IP68 materials. By installing these materials we ensure a more sustainable use of all resources due to their longer useful life.
In addition, we design the installation to be as efficient as possible in energy terms. To do this, we use low-power LED spotlights and adjust the installation to the minimum power without losing performance.
All our projects work with water in a closed circuit thanks to its water treatment system, which allows us to reduce consumption, limiting it to sporadic water contributions when necessary.
Functions
This fountain is programmed to work differently depending on the time of day. During daylight hours, the lights of the fountain will be off, but different water games can be observed.
In these games, the six jets, the central geyser and the spray of the whale’s tail interact with different heights and colors at night.
Currently this fountain is turned on every hour on the dot for ten minutes from 12 noon to midnight.
